I want to give you an example...
As per IS 1893 : 2000 part 1
For a seismic zone V
Z = 0.36
I = 1.5
R = 5
Sa/g = 2.5
Ah = 0.135
W = 1000kN
Vb = Ah * W = 0.135 * 1000 = 135kN
