In a RCC framed structure, I would like to know the following:-
1.The beams are designed with top and bottom reinforcement.
The beams are casted leaving the top 100mm for slab reinforcement.
          a. Is it safe to cast the slab after 2-3 days ?
          b. Would the beams serve the purpose for which they are
designed ?

Dear Mr. Srinewas,
It is absolutely safe to cast the slab after 2-3 days , provided the
structural members (beams and slabs) are properly propped from below. The
beams'll still serve the purpose for which they are designed for. Infact
this is a common practice where we can't do the entire concreting in first
phase. But take care of one thing , dowels for the slabs ( adequate
lap-length) must be left from the beam before concreting the beam.
Good Wishes
Malay.

Dear Sir,
It is better to cast the beam and slab at a time monolithically
If it can not be done, nothing wrong in doing the salb casting separately,
as slab and beam reinforcements are there for proper anchorage and
proper care is to be there in preparing the joints for proper bond.
Bonding chemicals like cerabond can also be applied at joints for effetive bonding.
