Only the slump test should never be considered for rejecting a batch/truckload of concrete mix. Slump is more a measure of concrete workability in the field. If at arrival the first slump test results in a more than accepectable slump, u usually let it mix for a few more minutes and then carry out another slump test. By adding admixtures and water we can arrive at an accepectable slump at field. But the duration of the concrete mix , is a more appropriate consideration for rejection. If the concert mix has been in transit for more than 60 minutes(?), it may be questionable to be used for the job. also a measure/check of WC for every batch of mix is advisable. raghu
----------- : What are the tests to be carried out at site on the fresh concrete from RMC : truck, especially after a long haul? Is slump test sufficient? : : Regards : S.P.Srinivasan : :
