Hi Sangeeta, Thanks for comments. In case of RCC structure, it is always a better solution to combine column footing on common wall with inner one, to avoid shoes type eccentric footing. In case of masonry footing, supporting load bearing wall, subjected to lateral forces, I think there is no mean of analysis of actual stresses. Kindly enlighten me, if u have any clue.
