Please guide me what should be designed load (combination of loads) for foundation design in case RCC framed structures for earthquake resistant design. It is common practice to design the foundation for DL + 0.6 LL is it as per Indian Standards.

Thanks

Pl refer IS875 Appendix which gives an example for working out the
reduced LL % based on no of storeys, the max reduction being 60 %.However
u must also check for unfactored combinations with Wind and Eq(in these
combos,25 % excess is permitted) and then design finally for the worst
case.

I think there has been a change in the IS875 Part 2 at some point.
I have the 1987 version (reaffirmed 1997) and it shows that
live load reduction in lower stories can go as high as 50%.
