Hi Sefians,
I am doing a project where in I have to make cut outs in the existing slab  of 600mm X 600mm. It was proposed to strengthen the cut outs by providing I- beams  below the cutouts with face plates of the I-beams anchored to the side beams. This was proposed as the corners of the cut outs will become points of the stress concentrations. Will some one kinldy tell me  if the procedure is correct? If not, what is the correct procedure? And if yes what is the loading for which the I-beam is to be designed?
