Hi According to the draft IS 800 response reduction factor for OMRF is 4.0 but acc. to table 7 of IS 1893: 2002 R is 3 for ordinary RC moment -resisting frames But when we read note no. 2 which says OMRF are those designed & detailed as per IS 456 or IS 800 but not meeting ductile detailing requirement as per IS 13920 or SP 6 (6) respectively. So i think it appears that it (R=3) is applicable for RC as well as Steel frames.

What shall be the Response Reduction factor (as per IS1893-2000) for ordinary steel moment resisting frames, not designed as per SP6(6)?
