About the  seminar :

"To guide the structural engineers for the efficient planning, analysis, design and detailing of shear walls  ."

Objective                   : Many high rise buildings are coming up in and around Mumbai. Due to scarcity of space in the island city, more tall structures are being planed. Shortly, Mumbai will have the tallest building in India. Planning and designing the high rise building is a complex and challenging task. Shear walls are invariably used in all high rise buildings for the required structural stiffness and strength which can not be provided by beam column frames alone beyond certain height.

The intention of this seminar is to discuss various aspects of shear walls in the high rise buildings. This includes planning, analysis, design, detailing and various code provisions.

Experts are invited to share their knowledge & experience in the design of various high rise buildings using shear walls.
