Dear All,

As per IS 13920 the min width of beam is specified as 200mm. However it is generally observed that the 150 mm (6") beams are provided to avoid the offsets. Whether same can be allowed & if so why IS has made it 200mm.

regards

Dear
150mm width is recommended in practice for only shorter spans where no of
rods can be accomodated easily. since depth is the criteria for BM 150mm
could be used for shorter spans.
