1. Tied arch: a bowstring girder is a perfect example of a tied arch.
2. Tank design: the oil tanks I mentioned varied from 5,000 cu.m. to 500 cu.m. capacity; the mollases tank had a capcity of 2,000 cu.m. I have not understood the second part of Ms. Sangeeta's query.
3. Design of pile groups: the treatment by Dr. V.K. Raina in his book on bridge design is eminently suitable for practical use.
