About the Book

Professional Ethics is a textbook designed for budding engineers, managers, and other professionals. It will aid them in understanding concepts that will enable them to effectively resolve the ethical issues they will face in their professional lives.

Starting with basic terminologies and ethical views of many thinkers from India and abroad, the book discusses the basic tenets of professionals and professionalism, moral development theories and ethical theories, ethics in engineering, engineers' responsibility for safety, and responsibilities and rights of individuals and professionals. Global ethical issues including corporate social responsibility, media, war, and research are also considered. Intellectual property rights, ethics audit, and development and detailing of ethical codes from professional engineering bodies are discussed in this book.
