Friends,

Further to the question by Mr. Kothari, can the bearing capacity of soil be
increased,
a) by providing compacted solling below the footing,

b)by providing plum concrete below the footing?

Regards and best wishes,

Anand Bhagwatwar

Dear Mr. Anand,

There are methods of incresing BC of soil given in the geotechnical books
watering and and compaction of mass area (and not only below the footing)
and compaction piles are TWO of the examples.

Providing plum concrete will provide firm base of the footing.

Sachin Kulkarni
