Consulting Engineers Association of India (CEAI) along with
Indian Association of Structural Engineers (IAStructE) has organised
a Seminar on
"Introduction to Design of Blast Resistant Structures" .
The speakers will be from Baker Engineering and Risk Consultants, Inc. of USA, Accord Engineering Services, New Delhi and other organisations.

Provisions of UFC 3-340-02 the revised ASCI will be discussed. Case studies will also be presented.
Hitherto such designs were required for hazardous areas only but it is becoming necessary to now cater for these forces for buildings which have the maximum density of persons such as the high rise ones or the public ones (theatres, convention centres, structures in exhibition areas, malls, etc.)
The 2 days seminar will be held in:

1. New Delhi at the Hotel The Royal Plaza on 07 & 08 March 2014, and
   
2. Mumbai at the Mayfair, Worli on 10 & 11 March 2014.
