Sir,
I am using staad pro for first time.Kindly check the staad file attached and pls guide me whether everything is right or not.I would be very much grateful to sefians for their precious guidance.

I have one doubt regarding Damping value.
If We consider  RF=3, We have to consider DM=0.05. Otherwise  it is zero for RF=5. Is it correct. Kindly clarify my doubt.

Dear Rajan sir,

DM is the damping ratio.. it is  2% for steel structure and 5% for RCC structure (clause 7.8.2.1 of IS 1893:Part 1-2002)irrespective of response reduction factor R.

For 5% the multiplying factor is 1 for 2% it is  1.4(ie, a steel structure experiences 40% more load than a RCC structure during seismic case)
