|
|
Dear All,
I am a new member of this forum and new to Staad pro also. I have the following questions in the analysis of MSB in Staad pro
1. What is the difference between Glabal axis and Local axis and how to use the command BETA
2. If the beam is to be added from the midspan of one beam to the midspan of another beam, is it possible to do it without creating two nodes on these two existing beams. If it is not possible to add the beam without nodes then please clarify whether taking the load of that beam as Concentrated load acting at that point is correct?
3. Suppose if we are developing the model with plate elements or surface elements for defining Slabs then please clarify whether the calculation of load distribution from slab to edge beams on all 4 sides will be done by Staad itself or we have to calculate the loads manually and load it on the beams directly?
Thankyou in advance for clarifying the above queries.
Best Regards

For difference between local and global coordinate system you may refer the following link

Dear friend
You can check or verify by yourself by modeling side by side two single bay single storey frame with slab as plate on frame and slab load on to the other frame
with simply supported beam and point load to other frame
then see the result such as reaction, moment, shearforce
