Is there any well defined procedure to calculate Damping of RCC structure?

Dear Dipak Gaikwad,

Refer to chapter 11 of the book "Dynamics of Structures" by Anil K. Chopra. I guess you would get what you are looking for.

As a further note, damping really would not have much effect in a dynamic analysis - exceting the fact that the vibrations would gradually die down due to it's presence. But it does not have much effect on the natural frequencies.

Considering the fact that the damping hardly ever reaches 20% of the critical - you will have a damped frequency of 98% of the undamped. In concrete, I guess damping ratio is 5%.
