Indo-Norwegian Training Programme (Non-Residential) on Seismic Design of Multi-storey Buildings: IS 1893 vs. Eurocode 8 at New Delhi from October 12-14, 2017


Building Materials & Technology Promotion Council (BMTPC), Ministry of Housing & Urban Poverty Alleviation, Government of India, is joining hands with Department of Earthquake Engineering, IIT, Roorkee, NORSAR, Norway and Norwegian Geotechnical Institute, Norway to organise Indo-Norwegian Training Programme (Non-Residential) on Seismic Design of Multi-storey Buildings: IS 1893 vs. Eurocode 8 from October 12 to 14, 2017 at Gulmohar Hall, India Habitat Centre, Lodhi Road, New Delhi  110003.

The course is specifically targeted to practicing Structural and Geotechnical Engineers, Research Students, Architects, Practitioners, Designers. The emphasis will be on real life problems and hands-on training and the participants are encouraged to bring their real life problems for discussion. The participants are recommended to bring their lap-top computers with structural design software being used by them, for hands-on training sessions.


The registration fee for the course is Rs.8,000/- per participant, inclusive of the course registration fee, training material, lunch/refreshment, etc. The participants have to make their own arrangements for stay in Delhi. The registration fee may be sent through DD/Cheque in favour of BMTPC, New Delhi or through online payment. Why only 1893, why not 13920, Draft Code 10936 and NDMA Hospital Guidelines??

Are you referring "Draft Code 10936" to http://www.bis.org.in/sf/ced/CED38(10639)_26082016.pdf

If that is the case, then Document number is "DOC: CED 38 (10639)WC" and it can't be IS 10936 ( If I assume that ), as IS 10936 - 1984 is Co-ordinated dimensions of heald frames in relation to the pitch of the harness.

Does anyone know about the IS code Number for the draft document "DOC: CED 38 (10639)WC"?

Can you please organise such events in Mumbai. It would be really helpful to structural engineering community of Mumbai chapter. I am willing to help in organising such events.
