Dear All:
Greetings!
This is a pre-econference email for the 6 day E-conference on "IS 16700- Criteria for Structural Safety of Tall Concrete Buildings".
For this econference we shall be making a departure from earlier conferences. This one shall be more focused and will only be discussing this particular code IS 16700. Hence I would request those of you who are interested in the econference to read the code in the next few days and be acquainted with it to get the best value from the conference.
The moderators for the e-conference shall be Er Ranjith Chandunni and myself. We were both part of the code drafting group of IS 16700. We will clarify issues on 19/3 as required after conclusion of Econference and may intermittently jump in as deemed fit.
A few points:
a) Please do not deviate from the topic of the econference. Queries on IS 1893, IS 13920 etc should not be asked during this econference.
b) If you have not read the code, pl simply follow the discussions. But do not indulge in general, irrelevant queries.
c) Each day will discuss specific Sections of the Code. On each day we will issue an opening note on the sections under discussion.
d) The schedule is as follows:
