from the video i could not understand the reason behind the cracks in well foundation.

if you have information kindly sheared with me....

       See the initial part of Video , crack developed due to tilting of well due to dragging of sand near from well foundation since long time

Thank you for your reply,

I have seen initial video and they have find the reason for the vertical crack is due to settlement of foundation which may be due to dragging of sand or  scouring.

then in the final solution they have adopted the pile foundation and pile is approx embedded 5.0 m below drain bed level. we can see in the video that they have encounter hard rock in the foundation between drain bed level and 5.0 m depth.

then in original design they have not rest foundation on hard rock which is approx 5.0 below drain bed level.

So foundation level is very important for economical and safe design aspect of structure.
