While Providing Reinforcements in Columns, After First placing Reinforcements at Corners, The remaining reinforcements are to be provided along Column width direction or Column Depth Direction?

What is the Principle behind it?

Suppose 6 bars are to be provided in a column. After placing 4 of them at corners , the remaining 2 should be placed along Column Width or depth?

This will depend on how you designed the column reinforcement, viz., equally distributed on 4 sided or equally distributed on 2 sides. While placing the reinforcement bars, you have to comply Cl.7.1.13 of SP : 34, that says "spacing of the bars along the periphery of the column shall not exceed 300mm".

sir, suppose i have a 300X450 mm Cross section of column and it requires 6 nos of 16mm dia bars, and i decide to give to give reinforcement equally distributed on 4 sides.

now after placing 4 bars at 4 corners, the remaining 2 bars, i can place along column width face or along column depth face.

which one should i be choosing sir?

Equal distribution would indicate more number of bars parallel to longer side, compared to shorter side. Thus, you provide 3 bars in the longer direction. On the other hand, if you provide 3 bars along the 300mm side, that becomes the case of reinforcement equally distributed in two sides.
