Hi All,

If the distance between center to center of the column is 22" in plinth beam layout, there is a wall load coming on 1/4 of the beam each side.

In this case,is it sufficient to provide the plinth beam depth as 15"?? instead of 24"

Please find the attached image for reference.

Thanks.
Ramu.

Er.Ramu,
U have wrongly typed 22" instead of 22'. U Need to provide a stub column or an intermediate support to reduce the depth to 15". If u use 22' span u need at least a depth of (satisfying the deflection) the span/depth ration as given in the code.
