Dear SEFIans,
I am trying to evaluate the forces and behavior of a suspension bridge but it seems that the forces are not being transferred to the cables. Kindly guide me on how to approach the modelling process and also how the behavior may be interpreted effectively as I have not worked with modelling of cables prior to this. The model file is attached for review.

Hi Share the models so that experts can give proper suggestion, Usually cables should be assigned as tension member, check the member properties and modeling.

I am not familiar with cable modeling in STAAD. But, I feel the cable can be easily designed manually, by the principles of Theory of Structures. The deck can be designed using STAAD. Please see the attached document, which may be helpful.
