Hello every one,

The fundamental time period should be same in SAP and Perform 3D?
I got fundamental time period as 0.48s in SAP but in perform 3D it is 0.68s for the same model?
Is it allowed?
If its not, what could be the possible error?

Thank you

Dear Er. S_saranya,

Fundamental Period is the basic  dynamic property of any Structure . You can have only one correct number ( ANSWER ) ,  no matter what software  you are using .  PLOT THE DEFLECTED SHAPE OF THE MODE YOU ARE CALLING FUNDAMENTAL MODE. That can tell you if you are getting Fundamental Mode shape in both cases .

SIMPLY STATED ONE ANSWER IS RIGHT AND OTHER WRONG .  PLOT THE DEFLECTED SHAE OF WHAT YOU CALL FUNDAMENTAL MODE .  IT IS EASY TO CATCH .  Make sure all your input properties ( INPUT FILES ) are same in both cases .

FUNDAMENTAL MODE  IS USUALLY  A  VERTICAL CANTLEVER BEAM DEFLECTED SHAPE  FOR HIGH RISE BUILDINGS .
