Handbook for Building Engineers by National Building Organisation

Yes , these books have become some kind of antiques .  But must be available in CPWD offices Libraries.

Following two manuals published by CDO/CPWD have also become antiques.
Manual on design of Multistorey Buildings vol 1
Manual on design of Multistorey ed buildings vol 2

I agree with Er es Jayakumar that digitalisation of such rare books is to be taken by respective Govt Deptts as the  content contained in these will be highly useful for lovers of structures basics.

For structural & civil engineers dealing with water retaining structures / water & seawage treatment plants , a useful reference is The Book  -  CONCRETE RESERVOIRS and TANKS  by G.P.  MANNING ,published by Concrete Publications Ltd , London

Govt of India -

Beurau of Indian Standards  - BIS
Indian Road Congress  - IRC

No one as engineer is unfamiliar with the two top  organisations of GOI. Their Codes ,standards, Special Publications and Explanatory Handbooks are the back bone of engineering practice and LAW unto themselves.

Other GOI publications :
Central Board of Irrigation & Power -CBIP
With its HO at

Chanakyapuri ,Delhi  published large no's of standard designs and Manuals for Irrigation and Power , especially hydropower related structures. Barrages designs, Tunneling manual, manual on concrete lining of tunnels , Manual on Small hydropower developments in hilly regions  and many more publications are there published by CBIP.

Working under Dr VK Raina ' s Discipline

As already said on sefi -subject Dr VK Raina ,world Class Engineer
that it was a great priveledge as well as opportunity to work in a design firm headed by Dr VK Raina in late seventies . Dr Raina himself alone used to sit for interviewing & selection of budding engineers/ freshers. Such was his concern .
He used to be a very hard task master , but always ready to appreciate engineers putting efforts .
It was manual design era. From writing of designs to details in drawings, everything was streamlined by him and even a fresher was able to produce design calculations of bridges  following the discipline outlined by DR Raina. Of course , calcs were checked at m senior level and finally to be seen by him for approval.

He has written many classical  books on Bridges .
His disciplined attitude towards the profession is examplary and definitely worth reference.

Dear Sefi Engrs.,

I think this document ( Check-List ) from  CASE ( Council Of American Structural Engineers ) , CASE 962-D should be very useful for sending out GFC ( Good for Construction )  final drawings .

Regards.

IRC publications

IRC , Indian Roads Congress  has done marvellous job in standardisation of a large no's of items, be it Bridges , Culverts , Road junctions , Rotaries  which provide ready details for wide range of parameters.

But ,their old published three girder system drawings for two lane bridges RCC  , which were followed till , I think late nineties , and available in most design offices , were not available for sale / reference , and instead , Four girder drgs have replaced. For two lane bridges.

It is not clear whether three girder system is still valid or minimum four girders is must.
