Dear All,
Can we construct G+1 load bearing brick wall residential building as exposed brick wall without plastering?
Or do we have to construct as a framed structute?
Kindly guide me.
Thanks,

Plastering is a protective covering apart from providing smooth finish . It improves the structure longevity for load bearing works.
But due to some reasons , u want to avoid Plastering , better take following measures :
Construct G+1 in load bearing , First class brickwork with crushing strength not less than 105 kg/cm2
Brickwork shall be in Cement : coarse sand mortar 1:4 . ( In normal case a leaner mortar suffice )
Pointing shall be done properly using 1:2 mortar .
Curing of brickwork must be done religiously for 10 to 14 days. |
