Dear All,

What are the basic criteria for the ramp slope?

How to calculate ramp slope and length when only height is the known value?

Please find the attached image for reference.

Thanks,
Ramu.

Dear Sir,

Refer IRC codes. Slope will depend upon the vehicles using the ramp.Calculation can be found in IRC/High way engineering books. You can find recommended slope values also.

Regards,

P.V.Gavarraju.

In case of Building ramps ,  Please check National Building Code of India for Ramp slopes for Normal situations as also for PH persons especially in school and Public Buildings .

As already enlightened by Er Gavarraju saheb , the gradients for Highways  in plains and Hill terrains are given in IRC Codes of Geometric designs.
