Dear Sefians,
What is the best economic and quality controlled method to cast numerous columns' and beams' joints where the grade of concrete of Beam is if M30 and columns continue for upper floors of M40?
There is heavy reinforcement in columns and beams.
Past Discussion on this is reproduced hereinunder :

Dear All,
The practice being followed in CPWD is shared with SEFI community:
1. Provide specified concrete mix (i.e. richer mix) at column location.
2. This richer mix also simultaneously laid upto twice beam depth from column face .
3. Richer mix concrete was manufactured and laid prior to manufacture of lower grade concrete.
This is what we used to specify in structural drawings and also execute at site.

Concrete at beam column junction
I think we may not encourage the site to use a lower mix
at the junction. Approach of using the column mix(higher mix) at
junction will be appropriate. A higher mix (of column) could be
prepared first and junctions could be filled in the begining of
concreting. In high rise constructions the differential in column
mixes vs Beam /slabsMix will always be there being dictated by
the design requirements
