Dear Fellow Members,

I want to design a 30m high mast lighting pole for Indian site conditions. I request you to guide me/ give reference book/code. I searched on the internet but could not get solid reference which could guide me. I referred IS 875(3):2015 but I am not getting clarity from it. Whether we can adopt it for high mast or not. Also code states that special literature shall be referred for dynamic response to wind loads. Your guidance over it will be helpful for me and appreciable too. Thank you.

Pl refer earlier postings on High mast foundation design,,

You can also use equivalent static forces from wind on High Mast structure and work out Moments at bottom of Mast,, sd well as bottom of Footing.
A spread footing,, square shape,  needs tk be provided at about 2.5 to 3.0m below GL with earth weight on footing protected from scourage, if any,, since it the weight of earth mainly together with self wt of footing,, stabilizing,,
Size of SQ footing must be adequate to ensure sufficient wt over it providing required Factor of safety against Overturning,, Sliding,, and Max Base pressures within permitted range of gross SBC AND upliftment of footing on Minimum pressure side not more than 67%.
