Dear All,

I have a doubt in IS 3370 (Part 4): 2021 - Concrete Structures for Retaining Aqueous Liquids. In the code, there are various tables and their respective coefficients to aid in the design of water tank.

May I know the formulae being used to create the respective tables in that code or any reference on how the tables are being formed.

Please guide me as to where to find it. I want to prepare an excel sheet to compute the moments of the tank based on the support conditions directly which also helps in interpolating the values in between. It might help in quick design instead of going through the code every time.

IS3370 part 4 gives coefficients for BM, shears for water tanks - rectangular  and circular,,

For creating equations,  I think you may go through following tech Literature :-

Formulas for stress and strains by Warren Young

Moody Tables

Reynold Handbook,  Big old version

Steel Designer Manual - ( can not say due to fading memory)
