Respected........all sefians,

I want to work on cable structures using SAP:2000 software.

What are the forces we have to assign in cable while modeling the cable?
How to find out the initial tension in cable? Initial tension is depends on what parameters?

Waiting for positive response!!!!!!!!!

Dear sefain, Could you plz be more elaborative.
is cable is in slack conditions
or in Taut condition.
If it is in slack condition, you  model the geometry correctly the sap will calculate
the intial tension itself.
If it is taut condition you have to find out the strain.
