Dear Dr.NS.Sir

Please correct me if am wrong,

A corrugated beam is a uniform section in corrugated shape.where as Castellated beams are beams with castellated bores (I.e Beam will have holes at specified intervals).

Corrugated  beams are used to for profile, where as castellated beams are used for deep sections to save material.

HI

The castellated beam  can be designed in STAAD only for American code . Please refer STAAD TECHNICAL REFERENCE 2.16 .

you will find solved example also .

And most important thing while designing Castellated beam in staad , In Staad release FX, FZ axial AND MX ,MY allow to design only MZ and Fy and
while assigning design parameter you have to assigned S open and E open [ i e 1.5e+b].

All the best

Regards

BHARATH

Dear Bharathhasan sir,

Why to release FX, FZ axial AND MX ,MY for the analysis of Castellated beams as they above are support specific and could not be generalised.Pl explain.  is it not possible to assign user table properties with calculated values of IZ,IX etc., and analyse the same for indian conditions.
