I was supposed to design the transformer and heavy switch panel foundations for solar power plant. Is there any design basis for that. It becomes very uneconomical if we consider certain codal specifications and functional requirements. For ex. There was one switch panel box, above the ground it was 750mm. And as per SP34 foundations should be minimum 500mm below the ground. So I had to give 1.25m raft for that, even the load was negligible. Also I had to give heavy reinforcement to meet the minimum tension reinforcement criteria.
