Hello Mr. Sudhakar sent me the following mail. I am sending it to SEFI so that other can reply.
Dear Mukesh Upadhyay
I am a member of SEFI but my mails are not coming onto the SEFI group. I don't know the reason. So only I am sending mail to you about my doubt on punching shear in flat slabs. You can either reply to me or post it on SEFI.
If an interior column is having a beam only on one of its four sides connected to another column, of size say 8" x 16", then how to ensure that the column is safe in punching shear? How the critical shear section is located? Will one thin beam section on one of its side will safe guard column from punching shear? Could you please suggest me on this.
