Dear Engr.Vivek, > Mumbai/India

Sorry for delay in reply as I was away from Dhaka.

Design of flyover is a specialised field of bridge engineering and so is the case with its construction. It's seismic design should be such so that it does not overturn like the flyover in Kobe - Japan, which was the case in recent time a few years ago during a major earthquake. In seismic zone a flyover is to be equipped with STU (Shock Transmission Unit ).

As requested I am indicating below JAL ( Journal & Article Location ) of the technical paper concerned about which I mentioned  previously:

'Design and construction of flyovers/urban viaducts: Recent trends AU: Reddi,
SA JN: Indian Concrete Journal PD: 2003 VO: 77 NO: 7 PG: 1175-1190'

More information follows shortly  in due course.

With regards & best wishes.
