SUBJECT :Masonry Infills

In normal practice & design offices the RCC frame are analysed for
seismic forces by ignoring the infills. The presense of infills which are
physically present increases the mass & the stiffness of the structure
hence likely to increase the seismic forces,so by completely ignoring
the infills in our analysis may not result in getting the true behavior
of the structure

If would be good if the 1893 code comes out with a clause that guides
the engineers when to consider the infills in the analysis & when to
ignore it.
