Dear All,

This is a response to request made by Mr..Mangesh.

1. Calculate centre of mass and centre of rigidity.
2. Distance between CM and CR is esi.
3. Calculate plan dimension perpendicular to the direction of earthquake.
4. Follow the formula given in code.

May I add this:

Stiffness of a frame is proportional to shear carried by it while it is
restrained from rotating in plan.

Consequently, three analyses have to be carried out: Two in each of the
orthogonal directions with the structure constrained to translate *only* in the
direction of the applied seismic load for obtaining centers of rigidity and a
final analysis on unconstrained structure.

From above, calculation of CR is bit involved especially in irregular
plan.You can work out by calculating stiffnesses of each frame in the
direction of an earthquake.( Ki).Find out CR equals to  Sum(Ki*xi)/Sum(Ki).
Xi being the distance if each frame from origin.
