Dear Engr.Aswin, > Los Angeles, California,USA

Since you have converged on the theorem as evident from the sketch e-mailed previously, therefore,I would like to say only a few words.

An architect can design a slopped roof in a variety of ways but in a seismic zone there are lot of restrictions in order to comply with seismic architecture - principal points are given below:

1.The building must be symmetrical along long, short and vertical axes over which slopped roof is to be designed.

2.The long & short axes of the slopped roof must be symmetrical with the above.

3.The maximum height of the slopped roof depends on the width of the building being considered fully dependant on intensity of the earthquake (MMIS) at the location subject to verification by 3-D model studies if it is to be technical.
With best wishes.
