PLz help me with this fundamental doubt........

In RCC, if the slab is  "two way" we take loading as trapezoidal on some beams and triagular in some beams.

But in Steel Structures even though the slab is "two way", we take the loading as UDL. why?????

Dear Er Vivek

Who said so? In steel structures also we need to use triangular and trepezoidal distribution only if the slab is two way!
Best wishes

dear vivek,
if u r considering the light weight roofing like acc sheets which is fixed over purlins . In this case we take member load or one way load. another example may b of precast slab or HCS or rib slab..
for normal rcc two way slab resting on four beams , load taken is triangular and trapezoidal

thnks
