|
|
Hello,
Currently I am working on non-linear analysis of RC Simply supported beam in ANSYS.
I used discrete method for modeling reinforcement but with no bond-slip condition incorporated between the reinforcement and concrete and I have kept a perfectly glued condition.
By doing this the beam which was designed for 60KN load by using IS 456 is now failing at 36KN in ANSYS.
When I read many literatures I understood that due to absence of the bond-slip model, tension stiffening is taking place and failure at lower loads is happening but none of them explained what is significance of the bond-slip model. We also don't consider that in our design using IS 456.
Can you please explain me the significance of bond-slip model and explain me why beam is failing at lower loads due to absence of this model?
Thanks,
Shaiv |
