In refinery, we are going for blastproof control room. It is made with RCC
wall with minimum of opening. The entrance should be made indirect to ensure
that if there is blast near the entrance, it should not affect the control
room inside resulting safety to the equipment & personnel inside the room. A
detail design procedure is available in CALTEX STANDARD, Volume-VIII.I think
there is BIS also but No. I don't remember, can anybody please give the
same.

For  Blast resistant Design , as a pesonal view

i) Roomm should  have  RCC walls / ( Brick + RCC) walls

ii) Roof slab  shall have  Double  mesh reinforcement ie  Top & Bott

iii) Slab Reinf shall be anchored into  walls for full D/Length

iv)Preferrablly Roof slab shall have more fill at top in form of lime conc/
mud phuska
to reduce the impact of explosion

v) RCC walls  along with 230 th brick work on inside is  preferrable to
reduce the
impact.
