A few reasons for the failure of rubble retaining wall are :
1. Inadequate base width.
2. Not providing enough weep-holes for rain water drainage.
3. Not providing enough through / bond stones in the masonry.
4. Lack of RCC bands to tie the masonry / to take tension at bends
5. Inferior workmanship / quality.
