Dear Sefi Engrs ,

DAM SAFETY PROBLEMS IN USA DUE TO RECENT HEAVY  RAINS :

From Latest ASCE SMARTBRIEF : August 6, 2018
Engineers deem Va. dam safe after heavy rains stress structure
Heavy rains near the University of Lynchburg in Virginia caused water to overtop a dam, causing more than 150 nearby residents to evacuate. Engineers have deemed the structure "stable and safe," but officials say the dam, which was built in the 1930s, does not meet current safety standards.
