Hellow Sefians.

I want to discuss about a continuous Cantilever Slab having a invert beam at the end edge of the Cantilever slab.

My question is as because the beam is situated at the free end of the slab will the slab behave like a simply supported slab? Assuming all the beams are under reinforced and will not deflect. Please reply if possible.

Dear Sir,
Your slabs will behave as two way slabs as long as you design and detail the beams to transfer the loads according to the same - your edge beam will be two span beam and the three long beams in opposite direction should be designed as one span with cantilever in which the edge beam reaction acts as end point load.

Yours sincerely

Dear friend,

As seen from the drawing, all slabs can be designed as Two way slabs with apt edge conditions. The Edge beam will be designed as Two span continuous beam and the Cantilever beam will be designed for Slab load and Point load due to edge beam.
