Dear sefians
  I want to learn about the action of wind forces on rooftop tower and monopoles legs as well as for ground based steel structures
Basiccally i want learn how uplift , compression and shear acts in these structure legs due to wind.
AS per code wind acts in x and z perpendicular directions and one in diagnol direction ! hence there would be 8 load cases for 4 legged square base structure !  x positive x negative z posi z negattive 4 diagnols !

But i am confused about load cases in case of 6 legged delta tower and monopoles
Pls help showing direction wind forces and mechanism of wind forces on each leg!
also how to calculate these forces values.

I attach a sample calculation of manual computation of maximum forces in the legs of a ground based 4-legged communication tower comprised of flat members due to wind load and self weight. This shall hold good for roof top tower as well. For a six legged tower, you can follow the same principles. You may take the wind blowing perpendicular to one face as the critical case for maximum force in tower leg. You may refer clause 6.3.3.5 of IS 875 (Part-III)-1987 for understanding the related codal provisions.
