Dear all,
While conducting pushover analysis,
I've input response spectrum function (Sa/g-T) of IS 1893. i.e the ordinates are z*Sa/g. (for z=0.36 and Sa/g =2.5, the ordinate of the plateau is 0.36*2.5=0.9) Please see the attached picture.
Now while the program(ETABS) converts this Sa/g-T response spectrum into Acceleration Displacement Response Spectrum (ADRS), i've hoped that for 5% damping curve, the ordinate value would remain the same. However while viewing FEMA 440 Equivalent Linearization curve with user defined function of IS 1893, the ordinate value would become very low i.e 0.000109 instead of expected same 0.9 value.)
However there is also an option called scale factor (mm/s2). Now I'm not sure if the value of scale factor to input would be (0.9/0.000109 =8256 or is it something else. I aslo suppose that the scale factor has something to do with converting m/s2 into mm/s2.
I am worried because the performance point would rely on the scale factor.
Any experienced suggestions please. Thankyou
