Dear All,

I'm trying to do manual analysis of a building and compare the results with STAAD pro. I'm done with slab & loading from slab to beams. i had applied loads from slab on beam as equivalent UDL & compared with floor load command in STAAD, results are matching.
I started frame analysis for gravity loads, IS 456 allows us to use Substitute frame Method (approx method).when i'm modelling separate  substitute frame in STAAD for Top floor & Mid floor by fixing far ends my manual calculations are again matching with STAAD.

1.Now when i combine top floor & mid floor to form a single 2 story frame, there is a variation in bending moments.
2.Does that mean STAAD treats beam column joint as partially fixed, as full fixity can't be achieved practically.
3. Please Suggest how to do it so that results do not vary.

Attaching STAAD files for reference.
