By diverting the river flow by means of tunnels if the geography allows for it or by building cofferdams.
For instance in the case of hoover dam, where the river flows through a deep gorge, the river was diverted through two tunnels on either side of the river and building a coffee dam Infront. The dam is constructed in the resulting dry area https://trackeasy.fun/usps/ https://showbox.tools/.
In certain cases where tunnel construction is not feasible or possible, the dams are usually constructed by means of cofferdams. A cofferdam structure is made like a fence around the working area half at a time. This can be either by means of dumping sand and rocks or by thrusting down sheet piles. Once the water trapped inside the cofferdam is pumped out, the construction can begin.
