|
|
Construction monitoring , especially during RCC works in high Rise structures , can also be monitored virtually by installing CCTV cameras at ht on various angles to have a view of construction activities .
Just a thought, may be in practice , but do not know.
It may not be possible to see reinforcement or other miniature features but progress of outdoor activities like scaffolding / shuttering, reinforcement placement , concreting are visible.
But MOST important but generally ignored activity of CURING can be easily monitored.
It may not be possible to see indoor finishing activities but structural RCC work can be easily monitored ,virtually. |

Dear Eng Vikram
Just monitoring is not adequate, but whole quality system is required to be complied with
Quality conformance is a must for total quality system
Relaibility of product is a must
We are lacking this aspect on RCC & others
Specifications must include all such requirements |

Yes sir, I agree with your viewpoint.
The engineers entrusted with the job ,posted at site along with PMC ( Project mgmnt.consultant) engineers monitor to achieve that goal. Method statements need to be followed religiously.
However , the idea was to have a third eye from further senior mgmnt. Who can see real time activities of rcc works as it progresses. It will definitely tighten the laxity at site, yes it can not replace the conventional monitoring, but can provide an easy way to adjudge the activities to the extent possible and act as deterrent to laxity.
Sir , you yourself , a lion in this field , definitely view more explicitly vis a vis we , the designers visiting project sites few times as per call .
Thanks and best regards
