SEFI is delighted to announce the launch of a new Webinar Series "Learning from Failures". We begin this series from where we commence projects- At the foundation level. The first webinar of the series shall focus on Failure of Shoring Systems. As cities grow, the pressure on providing parking increases and it is not uncommon to have one to four basements in metro cities of NCR, Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore and many others to cater to parking needs. Construction of Deep excavations requires expensive soil shoring strategies. Failures of shoring systems are being experienced at an alarming frequency in metro cities not just in India but in many parts of the world. These failures endanger the lives of many and are a significant drain on a nation’s resources.

SEFI has lined up a distinguished panel of geotechnical consultants and structural engineers both from the industry and academia who have had first-hand experience of observing such failures, to candidly discuss such failures. Through the process of analysing these failures, it is expected that some Learning From Failures will happen and move us one step towards a safer habitat.
