Dear All,

I understand that on top of one building in Mumbai,
a helipad has been constructed.

Could anyone in Mumbai help out by giving some details as to which
building and at what height and for what helicopter loading.

Thanks

DESIGN CONSIDERATIONS
The design loads to be considered are:
a) Normal landing load
b) Emergency landing load
c) Live load on the surface of the deck
d) Lateral Loads
e) Helideck self-weight.
f) Wind Load

A lifting analysis for the installation of the helideck onto the steel support shall be performed. This shall be carried out at the time of detailed engineering and cover the designed lifting points of the helideck.

The structural analysis method to be employed for the verification of the global and local strength of the helideck is being evaluated with the use of structural analysis computer software.

The helideck shall be checked for thermal expansion and contraction with respect to its non-aluminium interfaces. Suitable expansion joints shall be provided where required.

Thanks,

BUT I would like to know if helipads / helidecks are presently designed for helicopter
gross weights loading of more than 3000 kg.

Would any one know if the " Mandke Heart institue " helipad
is only for emergency rescue operations where loadings are limited to 3000 kg
and if any special deck is used , like R44 helipad for Robinson Rooftop helipad
for R44 helicopters which are only for max gross weight of only 3000 lb !!!

Is there some other guideline published by any other helicopter manufacturer,
since I have been able to trace data for only Robinson helicopter R44 helipad.
Maybe the Aviation deptt has some conditions imposed too.

Dear Mr. Gaikwad,

My sincere heartfelt thanks for sharing the data.
I am indeed enlightened and in a better position to discuss
with the Architects and the clients as to which helicopter category they wish to have
the system designed for.
